On November 2021 I had the honour and pleasure to photograph this Lake District Elopement with Olga & Matthew, a very brave and funny couple. The day was simply amazing! Relaxed, simple, and creative at the same time! They planned everything by themselves, choosing a fantastic location called Armathwaite Hall situated in Keswick.
The getting ready moment was so nice and calm, you could really feel a serene atmosphere filled with laughter and sweet looks. They decided to get ready in the same place, which is something I personally love and then ran down to the ceremony room.
It was such a great emotion for me to see the entrance moment, when Olga came inside and Matthew was waiting for her with a huge smile on his face followed by happy tears.
This is something incredibly meaningful, as not every couple feels comfortable walking down the aisle with hundreds of eyes looking at them, while when you elope, you actually have a moment that is all yours, for you and your partner to enjoy, to feel every second with the intensity that the moment deserves, and focus on your emotions and connection with your partner.
The civil ceremony was sweet and touching, a very emotional moment for both of them, so happy and so moved.
Following the ceremony, they had a nice and quiet moment to celebrate and toast! An intimate table with lake view, prosecco and finger food!
It was so cool for both of us knowing that we did not have to run, there was no straight timeline to follow, and they could do whatever they they wanted with their own time!
What now? Eagle experience! We had lots of fun walking in the venue garden, watching this beautiful bird flying and landing on their arms!
You see, this is the beauty of eloping, it allows you to do things and experience stuff that maybe you never tried before!
The moment after the ceremony is a special time for you two to enjoy activities that makes you feel happy!
It is not an all day photoshoot, it is not about us photographers, is about YOU TWO and nobody else.
